Sunshine Food and Clothing Closet
About Us:
The Sunshine Food and Clothing Closet was founded as a collaboration between the Galt Elementary School District, five Faith Based Organizations (Galt United Methodist Church, St. Christophers, Horizon, St. Luke and Family Life) and a diverse group of community members. We are completely staffed by volunteers and strive to support the needs of families impacted by the economic crisis. The Sunshine Food and Clothing Closet provides free gently used clothing and monthly food baskets to families in need on a referral basis. On average, we serve 30 to 40 families weekly and these numbers continue to increase.
We need your help!!
Please help us continue our mission by donating used clothing and non perishable food items.
The Sunshine Closet is located at: 902 Caroline Street, Room 17 (on the campus of the Fairsite School Readiness Center)
Hours of Operation: Thursdays from 8:00AM to 12:00PM

2011 John Nilsen Concert
Piano Solo Concert
John put on another greater concert for his second annual concert at Galt United Methodist Church

John's Bio
Galt United Methodist Church will host a musical performance by Northwest recording artist John Nilsen on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. Nilsen is an innovative performer who creates an intimate repartee with his audience and has appeared with musicians as diverse as Jose Feliciano, Kenny G and Alex De Grassi. Nilsen is a multi-talented pianist, guitarist, vocalist and composer.
As the Kansas City Examiner reports, “In some cultures, music and nature are not thought to be separate. They’re so entwined that one doesn’t exclude the other. This is exactly what is at the heart of John Nilsen’s music.”
