Learn Scripture

Pastor Mary Maaga is a gifted Bible teacher who will invite you to travel back to Biblical times as she fills in the gaps between the lines of Scripture. There are two ways to study Scripture at Galt UMC!

  1. On ZOOM from 4 – 5pm every Sunday: Paul’s Journeys and Letters
  2. In person from 10am – 11am every Tuesday in the Galt UMC Social Hall: John’s Gospel.

No previous Bible knowledge is required for either class. Both classes allow for you to attend as you are able instead of making a long term commitment. But we bet you will want to come often since there is much excitement, laughter, and even some tears as Pastor Mary makes you a “fly on the wall” for the greatest story ever told!

Care & Support

Pastor Mary is available for support and counsel during times of emotional hardship, spiritual turmoil, or relationship challenges. The Galt UMC Church family will pray for you and encourage you during times of sickness or grief.
The vows that are taken by our congregation when a person becomes a member include: "We will do all in our power to increase your faith, confirm your hope, and perfect you in love." The people of Galt UMC take these vows to heart and will help lighten your heavy loads as they share in your joys and sorrows.

Book Club for Women

This fall we will be reading "Separated by the Border: A Birth Mother, A Foster Mother, and a Migrant Child's 3000-mile Journey" by Gena Thomas. In person, Mondays at 11am in the Galt UMC Social Hall; online Wednesdays at 5pm. Contact Pastor Mary for a link.

Book Club

This past spring our group read "All That She Carried: The Journey of Ashley's Sack, A Black Family Keepsake" by Tiya Miles. To be included in information about the upcoming Book Club contact Pastor Mary.

Bible Study

Through Scripture the living Christ meets us in the experience of redeeming grace. We are convinced that Jesus Christ is the living Word of God in our midst whom we trust in life and death.

Bible Study

Because Scripture is so central to the discipleship of Methodists, two ongoing Bible Studies are offered at Galt UMC. ZOOM class on Sundays 4-5pm and in person on Tuesdays in the Social Hall from 10am – 11am. Both classes allow for you to attend as you are able -- no long term commitment required. Though you will likely get hooked, as the teachings of Scripture speak to your soul!
